Pakistan Expresses Interest in Bolstering Ties with ECO Member Nations

ISLAMABAD, In a recent conversation with the Resident Ambassadors of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Member States, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar emphasized Pakistan’s enthusiasm to reinforce bilateral relations with each ECO member country, underscoring the collective heritage and shared challenges within the region.

According to a new release by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, PM Kakar delineated the critical role of the ECO in fostering regional development, citing the shared history and culture that binds member states. He further highlighted that the region is currently grappling with mutual challenges. To harness these challenges into opportunities for shared growth, PM Kakar spotlighted essential areas such as connectivity, trade, energy, and economic collaboration.

Elaborating on the importance of the ECO, Prime Minister Kakar expressed anticipation for his upcoming engagements with the Heads of States of ECO Member countries, slated to occur on the sidelines of the 16th ECO Summit. The summit is scheduled to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from the 8th to the 9th of the subsequent month. In response, the Ambassadors expressed a mutual desire from their respective nations to nurture deeper ties with Pakistan. They also reiterated their united commitment to the vision and goals set by the ECO.
