Islamabad: A high-level meeting chaired by the Minister of State for Railways, Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, was convened to evaluate proposals for collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan in the railway sector. The session, held at the Ministry of Railways, also saw the participation of Major General Asad Cheema, Director General of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
Senior representatives from the Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Railways, SIFC, and the National Logistics Cell (NLC) were in attendance. The meeting focused on examining detailed proposals for bilateral railway cooperation and developing strategies to advance these initiatives.
The discussions also covered proposals concerning the Railway Board and logistics, indicating a comprehensive approach to potential partnerships.
This meeting follows an earlier engagement on May 15, where Mr. Kayani met with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Sarvan Jafarov, and Chairman of Railways, Mr. Rovshan Rustamov, in Baku. During this meeting, Chairman Rustamov expressed Azerbaijan’s willingness to strengthen cooperation in the railway sector with Pakistan.
