Pakistan Executes Cyber Operation Targeting Key Indian Websites

Islamabad: In a coordinated cyber offensive, Pakistan has launched a significant cyber attack on Indian digital assets under the codename Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos. The operation targeted several prominent Indian websites, resulting in the erasure of substantial data and the leak of sensitive information.

Security officials confirm that the official website of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was among the primary targets. Other impacted entities include the Crime Research Investigation Agency, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), Bharat Earth Movers Limited, and the All India Naval Technical Supervisory Staff Association.

Reports indicate that critical data from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Border Security Force, and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) was compromised during the cyber incursion. Additionally, databases belonging to the Indian Air Force and the Maharashtra Election Commission were also breached.

The operation further extended its reach by taking control of over 2,500 surveillance cameras across India, underscoring the comprehensive nature of the cyber assault.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting provided the details of this operation, highlighting the scale and impact of the cyber attack on Indian digital infrastructure.
