Beijing: Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, announced at the Global Digital Economy Conference in Beijing that Pakistan is ramping up support for exports and investments in its burgeoning IT sector. The conference, a major event in the tech industry, provided a platform for Pakistan to showcase its commitment to digital growth.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Khawaja detailed several incentives aimed at attracting foreign investors, including 100% equity ownership, full repatriation of capital and dividends, and significant income tax credits for IT exports. These policies underscore Pakistan’s strategy to become a hub for technological innovation and investment.
The Minister also highlighted the potential for Pakistan-China collaboration within the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). She emphasized that integrating digital technologies into CPEC projects could unlock substantial opportunities for economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development, aligning with broader national digitization efforts.
