Lahore, Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik, the Caretaker Minister for National Food Security, has indicated the government’s commitment to enhancing food security in Pakistan. According to a report by the Ministry of Information Broadcasting & National Heritage, he addressed these efforts during a Round Table Conference in Lahore.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani will oversee The government’s strategies include boosting agricultural production, modernizing the irrigation system, promoting advanced farming techniques, and providing subsidies to farmers. Dr. Malik emphasized addressing challenges such as water scarcity, climate change, and post-harvest losses. Efforts are also being made to improve seed quality, adopt climate-smart agriculture practices, and reinforce agricultural extension services.
