Pakistan Engineering Council to Host Nationwide Seminars on Standard Bidding Documents

Islamabad: The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has announced a series of one-day awareness seminars across various cities to educate on the “Pakistan Standard Bidding Documents for Construction Works for Building and Engineering Works Designed by the Employer.” Scheduled for December 2023, these sessions are aimed at standardizing practices and enhancing the transparency of construction bids in Pakistan.

According to Pakistan Engineering Council, the seminars are set to take place in cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta, among others, with dates ranging from December 5th to 12th, 2023. These events are designed for engineers, consultants, construction managers, and professionals involved in government and private sector infrastructure projects. The seminars will cover essential updates and implementations regarding bidding procedures and documentation that were amended in 2017 and further reinforced in recent guidelines established in December 2022.

Each session intends to facilitate a deeper understanding of the bidding process and ensure compliance with the standardized procedures. The initiative underscores PEC’s commitment to fostering a well-regulated engineering and construction environment across the country. Registration for the seminars is open until the specified deadlines for each location, with a nominal fee required from attendees.
