Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed approval of Hamas’s response to the peace proposal announced by President Donald Trump. The plan presents a significant opportunity to achieve an immediate ceasefire, halt the violence against Palestinians in Gaza, facilitate the release of hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance. Additionally, it aims to initiate a credible political process towards enduring peace. Pakistan has urged Israel to halt its attacks without delay.

The Pakistani government has acknowledged President Trump’s efforts to establish peace in Gaza, expressing hope that these efforts will lead to a durable ceasefire and a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region. It has committed to playing a constructive and meaningful role in supporting the peace process.

In reaffirming its support for the Palestinian cause, Pakistan has declared its solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for self-determination. The government advocates for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in line with international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions.
