Pakistan Emphasizes International Collaboration at NAM Summit


Islamabad, Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling global challenges through international cooperation at the 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Kampala, Uganda.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Syed Haider Shah, Pakistan’s Additional Foreign Secretary (United Nations), represented the country at the summit. In his address, Ambassador Shah reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement and its support for the Movement’s goals of promoting peace, equality, cooperation, and well-being globally.



He underscored the need for urgent reforms in the systems of finance, trade, and technology to achieve balanced and sustainable socio-economic growth, especially in developing countries. Additionally, Ambassador Shah called for a swift resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in line with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.



Ambassador Haider Shah led the Pakistani delegation to the NAM Summit, stepping in after Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani had to curtail his visit due to recent developments.
