Pakistan emerges significant player in regional politics: Tarar


Islamabad: In a notable shift on the global stage, Pakistan has been acknowledged as a pivotal force in regional politics, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar announced today. Highlighting the nation’s growing international influence, Tarar emphasized that countries around the globe are keen to engage with Pakistan, with many expressing a desire to visit Islamabad to forge stronger ties.



Meanwhile, Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain revealed an impending wheat policy aimed at ensuring fair pricing for farmers. Speaking during the Senate’s Question Hour, Hussain expressed optimism that this policy would boost wheat production nationwide. Additionally, he confirmed that the federal administration has secured the fertilizer supply chain and is working with provincial bodies to enforce stringent seed quality standards through the Seed Act.



Addressing the situation in Palestine, Tarar noted that their government has welcomed ongoing discussions to establish peace in the region. Furthermore, he underscored the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the collective honor of safeguarding the two holy mosques for the Pakistani populace.



In financial matters, Tarar mentioned that provincial nominations for the National Finance Commission Award have been finalized, with all decisions made through consensus. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene on Friday at 10:30 a.m.
