Pakistan Embassy in Paris Marks Defence and Martyrs Day with Commemorative Reception

Paris: The Pakistan Embassy in Paris held a reception yesterday to commemorate Pakistan’s Defence and Martyrs Day, attended by an array of international dignitaries including members of Parliament, ambassadors, defence attaches, and representatives from the French armed forces and defence industry.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad welcomed the guests, expressing gratitude for their presence which he noted underscores the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and the international community. He reflected on the significance of September 6th as a day to honor the valor and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and its citizens.

Ambassador Ahmad also highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing contributions to regional and global peace, particularly through its participation in UN peacekeeping missions and its role in international counter-terrorism efforts. Furthermore, he called for responsible members of the international community to support a peaceful resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, aligning with UN Security Council resolutions.
