Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu Celebrates 85th National Day with Notable Attendees

Kathmandu: The Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu held a reception at Hotel Soaltee to commemorate Pakistan’s 85th National Day. The event was attended by a host of prominent figures, including the Vice President of Nepal, Dr. Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, who served as the Chief Guest.

The gathering saw participation from numerous senior Nepalese political, civic, and business leaders, as well as ambassadors, diplomats, and members of the Pakistani community. Among the notable attendees were Indira Rana, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of CPN-US and Former Prime Minister of Nepal.

The event featured a photo exhibition titled “A Glance at Pakistan,” showcasing the country’s diversity. Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, H.E. Abrar H Hashmi, addressed the attendees, emphasizing the historical significance of Pakistan Day and the nation’s journey to becoming a republic.

Ambassador Hashmi paid tribute to Pakistan’s forefathers and reiterated the country’s commitment to fulfilling its international obligations. He highlighted the cordial relations between Pakistan and Nepal, noting the shared geography and cultural linkages that have fostered strong bonds between the two countries.

He expressed hope for continued collaboration in areas such as education, health, defense, and climate change, aiming to strengthen ties in the future. The Nepal Army band added to the occasion by playing the national anthems and a selection of Pakistani songs, which captivated the audience.
