Bucharest: The Embassy of Pakistan in Bucharest held a flag-hoisting ceremony to mark Pakistan’s National Day, drawing a large gathering of Pakistani expatriates in Romania. The event featured the hoisting of the national flag by Ambassador Ilyas Mehmood Nizami and the playing of Pakistan’s National Anthem.

According to Press Information Department, special messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out during the ceremony. In his address, Ambassador Nizami congratulated community members, paying tribute to the leadership of the Pakistan movement, with particular mention of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He highlighted Pakistan’s peaceful political struggle for independence and its embodiment of the aspirations of the Muslims of the Subcontinent. The ambassador also reflected on Pakistan’s developmental journey over the past 79 years, noting its progress despite limited resources at the time of its creation in 1947.
