Beijing: The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing has launched a mentorship program aimed at strengthening community ties and exploring new employment opportunities. The initiative, introduced at the 2nd Pakistan Professionals and Students Forum 2025, seeks to harness the experiences of industry experts to guide students and young professionals.

The forum, themed ‘Mentorship: Learning from the Learned,’ brought together a diverse group of industry professionals, students, academics, and entrepreneurs from across China. Its objective was to facilitate dialogue on the evolving job market, particularly in light of high-quality developments associated with CPEC 2.0.

In a video address, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal praised the embassy’s efforts, underlining the importance of the overseas Pakistani community in the nation’s sustainable development. He emphasized education as a crucial force for transformation and encouraged the community to engage in sharing experiences and building partnerships.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi, lauded the forum as a forward-thinking platform that integrates industry and academia across generations. Ambassador Khalil Hashmi echoed these sentiments, describing the event as an opportunity to connect and collaborate for future endeavors.

The forum featured two panel discussions focusing on job prospects under CPEC 2.0 and the practical aspects of mentoring future generations. Panelists included experts from UNESCO, Renmin University, and leading Pakistani academics and professionals.

The event highlighted the growing importance of international collaboration in educational and professional development, aiming to equip the younger generation with the necessary skills to thrive in a dynamic global market.
