Islamabad: Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has sent its 18th relief consignment to assist those affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza and Lebanon. The shipment, comprising 95 tons of supplies including winterized tents and blankets, was dispatched from Islamabad International Airport to Beirut, Lebanon.
According to Press Information Department, the aid was transported via a chartered flight from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi to Beirut. A send-off ceremony at Islamabad International Airport was attended by Anjum Aqeel Khan, a Member of the National Assembly, Lebanese Ambassador Ghassan Al Khatib, and representatives from NDMA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Anjum Aqeel Khan emphasized the urgent need for relief efforts to support the affected populations in Palestine and Lebanon. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to aiding those in distress and highlighted the role of welfare organizations and the public in enhancing these efforts. To date, a total of 1,705 tons of aid has been dispatched to the conflict zones. In addition, the Prime Minister has established a special account named the “Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon” to collect public donations for the ongoing crisis.
