Karachi: A terrorist attack near Karachi airport last night has resulted in the deaths of two Chinese engineers and injuries to another, drawing strong condemnation from Pakistan. The Foreign Office declared the incident an assault on both Pakistan and its deep-rooted friendship with China, with assurances of a rigorous pursuit of justice.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch expressed profound condolences to the families of the Chinese and Pakistani victims and wished a quick recovery for the injured. Baloch labeled the attack a heinous act of terrorism and affirmed that Pakistan’s security forces are committed to capturing those responsible, including the identified group, the Majeed Brigade.
Baloch further stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively coordinating with the Chinese Embassy to manage the aftermath and support the victims’ families. Highlighting the strong bilateral ties, she described Pakistan and China as “iron-brothers” with a bond of mutual respect and shared destiny, emphasizing Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to protect Chinese nationals and projects within its borders.
