Pakistan Denounces Israeli Strikes on Iran, Calls for International Response


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has condemned recent Israeli military actions against Iran, labeling them as violations of sovereignty and international law. The Pakistani government has called on the global community, including the United Nations, to intervene and halt the aggression immediately. The strikes, according to Pakistan, disrupt regional stability and pose significant threats to peace and security.



In a recent press briefing, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry underscored its solidarity with Iran, aligning with other Middle Eastern nations in rejecting Israel’s actions. The Foreign Ministers from 20 countries, including Pakistan, have jointly condemned the attacks and stressed the need for de-escalation and respect for state sovereignty.



The coalition of nations also highlighted the importance of establishing a Middle East Zone free of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction. They emphasized adherence to international rules protecting nuclear facilities and called for renewed dialogue on Iran’s nuclear program.



Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, has been actively engaged in discussions with counterparts from Iran, Türkiye, Egypt, the UAE, and the UK to address the deteriorating regional situation. The discussions focused on maintaining peace and preventing further escalation.



In a separate event, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary inaugurated a regional consultation on responsible AI in the military domain, reflecting on how technological advancements are impacting warfare. The consultations included participants from 17 countries, aiming to bolster regional dialogue and inclusive rule-making.



Amid the rising tensions, Pakistan has been facilitating the evacuation of its nationals from Iran. Nearly 3000 Pakistanis have been evacuated so far, with assistance from Iranian authorities.



The ongoing conflict has also drawn attention to the broader geopolitical landscape, with Pakistan reiterating its commitment to diplomacy and peaceful resolutions. The government maintains a firm stance against military aggression, advocating for dialogue as the primary means to resolve disputes.



Furthermore, Pakistan continues to support the Palestinian cause, expressing concern over humanitarian conditions in Gaza and the West Bank. The government has pledged to enhance humanitarian aid and educational support for Palestinians.



The unfolding scenario between Israel and Iran has also highlighted issues closer to home, with Pakistan voicing concerns over Indian actions in Jammu and Kashmir. The Foreign Ministry condemned India’s recent regulations affecting the region’s demographic structure, calling them violations of international law.



As regional tensions persist, Pakistan remains committed to diplomatic efforts and international cooperation to ensure stability and peace.
