Pakistan Denies Indian Accusations Regarding Bangladesh Unrest

Islamabad: Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Foreign Office Spokesperson, has unequivocally rejected all accusations from India that allege Pakistani involvement in recent events in Bangladesh. At her weekly media briefing, Baloch emphasized that such claims reflect an ongoing problematic fixation with Pakistan by India.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the spokesperson dismissed the allegations as indicative of a broader tendency within Indian politics and media to attribute their domestic and foreign policy failures to Pakistan. Baloch underscored the robust and growing ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, expressing solidarity with the Bangladeshi people and optimism for a swift resolution and return to normalcy in the country. She also highlighted the participation of Pakistan’s High Commissioner at the inauguration of Bangladesh’s new Prime Minister, underscoring the positive bilateral relations.

In response to further queries, Baloch refuted recent statements by former Indian law enforcement officials who blamed Pakistan for an increase in attacks in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. She called on Indian authorities to respect the sentiments of the local population and adhere to UN Security Council resolutions advocating an impartial plebiscite to decide the region’s future. Additionally, the spokesperson categorically denied a report by the Jerusalem Post, which claimed Pakistan might supply Shaheen-III ballistic missiles to Iran amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. She criticized the propagation of false news at such a critical juncture, urging all parties, including the media, to refrain from such actions.
