Pakistan Day Greetings Emerge in Kashmir Amid Calls for Freedom

Srinagar, As Pakistan Day approaches on March 23, Srinagar and various regions in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed the emergence of numerous posters extending greetings for the occasion. These posters, expressing solidarity with Pakistan and advocating for Kashmir’s freedom, have been prominently displayed across the valley, reflecting the sentiments of certain local groups towards the ongoing political struggle.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the posters were installed by various organizations, including the Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement, Justice and Peace Initiative, Nawjawanan-e-Hurriyet Jammu Kashmir, and the Jammu Kashmir Democratic Movement. They feature images of Pakistan’s flag and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, alongside messages echoing the late Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani’s slogan, “Hum Pakistani Hain, Pakistan Hamara Hai” (We are Pakistani, Pakistan is ours).

These messages articulate a demand for the cessation of what they describe as Indian illegal occupation, expressing a strong desire for self-determination and integration with Pakistan. The posters assert the Kashmiri people’s refusal to accept the current status quo and their aspiration for freedom, accompanied by slogans such as “Go India Go Back” and “Jammu and Kashmir is part of Pakistan.”

In addition to physical displays, these posters and their messages have been circulated on various social media platforms, amplifying their reach and impact both locally and internationally. The proliferation of such material underscores the complex and contentious nature of the region’s political landscape, where various factions continue to voice their perspectives and demands regarding Kashmir’s future.
