Pakistan condemns killing of four youth in IIOJK

Islamabad, June 13, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan on Monday strongly condemned the extra-judicial killing of four youngsters in Pulwama and Srinagar districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir during cordon and search operations.

The Foreign Office Spokesman, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad in a statement in Islamabad said that it was highly regrettable that cold-blooded targeting of Kashmiri youth had become a norm in the occupied territory.

“More than 621 Kashmiris have been martyred by the Indian forces since India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5th August 2019,” he said and added that this year alone, 98 extra-judicial killings of Kashmiris had been recorded.

He said that India must realize that layered lockdowns, brutal military sieges, and use of indiscriminate force would not dampen resolve of the Kashmiris struggling against Indian illegal occupation.

“Pakistan has consistently been drawing the attention of the international community towards the atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian forces to perpetuate its illegal occupation of IIOJK in complete defiance of international humanitarian law,” he maintained.

The Foreign Office Spokesman reiterated its call for investigation of extrajudicial killings in IIOJK by establishing an independent Commission of Inquiry as recommended by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in its Kashmir reports of 2018 and 2019.
