Islamabad: Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s recent decision to ban the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA). The announcement was made public through a post on the social media platform X by Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Munir Akram.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Akram emphasized the critical role that UNRWA plays in providing essential aid and support to millions of Palestinian refugees. He warned that any attempts to undermine the agency’s role could lead to severe humanitarian and regional consequences.
The Ambassador further stated that the bills passed by the Israeli parliament concerning UNRWA demonstrate Israel’s intensified actions against Palestinians. He described these legislative moves as efforts to sever a crucial lifeline for Palestinians that is provided by UNRWA and other UN entities.
