Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has condemned what it describes as continued aggression by Israeli forces in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, specifically highlighting the situation in Gaza. According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the violence has resulted in the deaths of thousands of Palestinians, including civilians and humanitarian workers.

Pakistan criticized Israel’s recent military efforts, such as the illegal acquisition of the Morag Corridor, which it sees as part of a broader strategy to annex Palestinian land. The statement emphasized a particular incident involving the targeting of a UN-operated clinic in Jabalia that housed over 700 displaced individuals. Pakistan views these acts as violations of international law and as constituting war crimes.

The storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex by Israeli forces during Eid-ul-Fitr was also highlighted as a significant concern. Pakistan claims that this act violates the sacredness of one of Islam’s holiest sites and serves to heighten tensions in the region.

The press release described the destruction of civilian infrastructure and the displacement of Palestinians as both morally and legally indefensible. Pakistan called for an immediate cessation of these activities.

The statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Palestinian self-determination and advocated for the formation of an independent Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. It also urged the international community to take decisive action to protect lives and holy sites.
