New York: At the United Nations, Pakistan has expressed concern about the ongoing supply of advanced weapons and sensitive technologies to a certain state in South Asia. This issue was brought to light during the General Assembly’s Disarmament and International Security Committee meeting.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistani delegate Gul Qaiser emphasized that Pakistan is neither pursuing nor involved in an arms race within the region. He highlighted that initiatives like the Arms Trade Treaty have seen only limited success in regulating conventional weapons. Qaiser urged for a shift in focus towards addressing the underlying causes driving the arms trade, rather than solely managing its consequences.
