Pakistan Commits to Role in Resolving Kashmir and Palestine Conflicts, Says Deputy PM Dar

London: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to actively contribute to the resolution of the Kashmir and Palestine disputes. Speaking in London, Dar underscored Pakistan’s ongoing responsibilities in global diplomatic arenas, especially given its new role on the United Nations Security Council.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a media briefing, Dar elaborated on Pakistan’s intentions to address key international issues including Kashmir, Palestine, and Islamophobia during its tenure at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Pakistan, which recently secured a non-permanent seat on the UNSC with an impressive 182 votes, sees this as an opportunity to reinforce its commitment to longstanding resolutions that have yet to be implemented, particularly those concerning Kashmir.

Dar highlighted the contrast with Pakistan’s last term on the Security Council 12 years ago, when it barely secured a majority. This time, the overwhelming support is seen as a mandate to pursue a proactive diplomatic agenda. He also noted ongoing discussions with permanent members of the UNSC to shape Pakistan’s agenda for its two-year term.

The Deputy Prime Minister lamented the international community’s failure to enforce UN resolutions on Kashmir, stressing that these unfulfilled resolutions remain a key point of contention and a focal area of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.
