Islamabad: On the occasion of Defence Day, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan’s Minister for Defence and Defence Production, delivered a poignant message underscoring the nation’s unwavering commitment to defend its sovereignty against all threats. The minister invoked the spirit of the 1965 war heroes, emphasizing the historical significance of September 6, 1965, as a day that stands as a testament to Pakistan’s determination to protect its territory.
According to Press Information Department, Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that September 6 is remembered for the sacrifices of Pakistan’s military and civilians who stood firm against external aggressions in 1965. He highlighted that the legacy of bravery continues to inspire the armed forces and the nation in facing contemporary security challenges. The minister accused Pakistan’s traditional adversary of perpetrating gray zone conflicts and supporting terrorist activities aimed at destabilizing Pakistan. He expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri struggle, reaffirming Pakistan’s support in light of recent unilateral actions by India regarding the status of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Defence Minister assured that Pakistan remains a peace-loving nation but is prepared to respond decisively to any acts of aggression. He called for national unity, faith, and discipline to overcome adversities, echoing the resolve exhibited during the 1965 conflict. As the nation commemorates Defence Day, the message from the Ministry is clear: Pakistan will steadfastly support its military and Kashmiri brethren in pursuit of peace and rightful resolution of conflicts as per international laws.
