Pakistan Commemorates 72nd Death Anniversary of Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan

Islamabad, 15 Oct 2023: On the eve of the 72nd death anniversary of Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan, Dr. Arif Alvi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, paid tribute to the leader’s notable contributions to the nation’s freedom struggle and post-independence era. Recognized for his dedication to the welfare and sovereignty of Pakistan, Liaquat Ali Khan’s legacy as the nation’s first Prime Minister and his significant role in the adoption of the Objectives Resolution, amongst many other accomplishments, were highlighted.

The Press Information Department (PID) shared the President’s message that recalls Liaquat Ali Khan’s unwavering support to Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founding father of Pakistan. As Pakistan’s premier, he was instrumental in setting the direction for the nascent country, focusing on the establishment of democracy, rule of law, rehabilitation of refugees, bolstering the defense, and promoting social and economic justice.

His commitment and vision for a democratic, progressive Pakistan resonate today as a source of motivation. As the country remembers his sacrifices, the President urged the citizens to recommit to building a Pakistan where justice, equality, and unity are paramount.
