Pakistan Coast Guards Intensify Crackdown on Narcotics and Smuggling


Islamabad, Under the direction of Federal Minister for Interior and Anti-Narcotics Mohsin Naqvi, the Pakistan Coast Guards have intensified their efforts against smuggling and narcotics along the coastal belt, resulting in significant seizures of various contraband items.



According to Press Information Department, the recent operation led to the confiscation of large quantities of illegal goods including 12,970 kilograms of sugar, 3,049 packets of gutka, 1,524 packets of cigarettes, and thousands of kilograms of cloth. The operation also netted a wide range of other items such as dairy products, electronic devices, speed boats, and Iranian fuel. Minister Naqvi has emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards these illegal activities, highlighting their detrimental impact on Pakistan’s economy and national security. He reiterated the government’s commitment to aggressively pursuing smugglers and drug traffickers to protect future generations from the scourge of narcotics.
