Pakistan, China Pledge to Deepen Strategic Partnership and Advance CPEC Development


Islamabad, Pakistan and China have reiterated their commitment to strengthen bilateral relations, emphasizing the continuation of high-level exchanges and consultative mechanisms. This commitment was reaffirmed during the 5th round of the China-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue in Beijing, co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the dialogue also focused on advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into its second phase, which will concentrate on five key areas: growth, innovation, openness, livelihood, and environmental sustainability. The officials reviewed all aspects of the bilateral relationship and discussed regional and international matters of shared interest.



During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister described the relationship with China as fundamental to Pakistan’s foreign policy and acknowledged China’s support on the Jammu and Kashmir issue, highlighting its significance for regional peace and stability.
