Pakistan, China desire sustainable peace in Afghanistan: FM

Islamabad, July 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Pakistan and China desire sustainable peace in Afghanistan. Addressing a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Chengdu today (Saturday), he said Pakistan and China has been playing their due role in peace process of Afghanistan. He said Pakistan always condemns violence and supports a peaceful solution for the issue of Afghanistan.

The Minister stressed that neighbours of Afghanistan need to play a proactive role for bringing peace in the country. He said Pakistan wants to see reconciliation an inclusive government in Afghanistan. He said despite some harsh statements Pakistan has shown restraint for large interest of peace and stability in the region.

Condemning attack on Chinese in Dasu, he termed the attack as a coward action. He said we will not allow anyone to sabotage Pak-China relationship. He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor is a clear manifestation of our intentions to upgrade our bilateral and strategic relationship. He said China has always supported Pakistan’s stance on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Shah Mahmood Qureshi also thanked Chinese government for supporting Pakistan to fight against Covid-19.
