Quetta: The Pakistan Chest Society convened a significant meeting via Zoom, hosted in Quetta, to deliberate on key organizational changes and research initiatives. Members from provincial chapters participated in the discussion, which aimed at enhancing the society’s role in addressing chest diseases and overall health issues.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, General Secretary Dr. Maqbool Ahmed Longo opened the meeting by welcoming the members, followed by President Prof. Dr. Shereen Khan of the Balochistan chapter, who outlined the agenda. The council reviewed a range of topics including the proposed relocation of the center from the federal chapter to Balochistan and the performance of general secretaries across provincial chapters.
The meeting also focused on refining the society’s guidelines and expanding its research capabilities. Members engaged in a comprehensive discussion about the audit procedures and other administrative matters, particularly addressing the management of the Sindh chapter’s bank account.
Prof. Dr. Shereen Khan closed the session by expressing gratitude for the members’ active participation and the support from various stakeholders. He emphasized the society’s commitment to advancing public health, particularly in combating chest diseases, through collaborative efforts across all chapters.
