Pakistan Celebrates Successful Launch of First Lunar Orbit Mission


Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended their congratulations to the nation and involved scientists following the successful launch of Pakistan’s first lunar orbit mission, the ICUBE-Q satellite. This marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s space program.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari lauded the efforts of the Institute of Space Technology, SUPARCO, and their collaboration with the China National Space Administration. He expressed pride in the national achievement and the collaborative efforts with China in aerospace technology.



Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted this event as a crucial step in Pakistan’s space endeavors, equating it to the country’s historical achievements in nuclear technology. He praised the team’s dedication and foresaw this success as enhancing Pakistan’s capabilities in satellite communication, scientific research, economic development, and national security.



The Prime Minister also observed the historic launch on TV, reflecting the profound significance of this achievement to Pakistan and its strategic partnerships, particularly with China.
