Pakistan Celebrates 78th Independence Day at Embassy in Washington D.C.


Washington DC: The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C. marked Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with a flag hoisting ceremony, embodying a deep reverence for the nation’s history and the sacrifices made for its freedom. The event, which saw a significant turnout from the Pakistani diaspora, featured the hoisting of the national flag by Charge d’Affaires Dr. Fareha Bugti.



According to Embassy of Pakistan – Washington D.C, the ceremony was a vibrant celebration of Pakistan’s independence, with attendees including embassy staff and members of the Pakistani community. Dr. Bugti, overseeing the proceedings, underscored the importance of the day, which recalls the relentless efforts of the Pakistan Movement’s leaders and the enduring sacrifices of the forefathers who envisioned a sovereign and independent nation.



During the event, special messages from the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were delivered, both of which highlighted the historical significance of the day and the ongoing commitment to uphold the ideals upon which Pakistan was founded. The gathering also featured a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, led by Dr. Bugti and other dignitaries, to celebrate the 78th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence, reinforcing a sense of unity and national pride among the attendees.
