Pakistan Celebrates 77th Independence Day with National Leaders’ Messages of Unity and Resolve


Islamabad: Pakistan’s leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has extended warm Independence Day greetings to the nation, emphasizing unity, the rule of law, and continued support for regional struggles for self-determination.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari, in his message, highlighted the historical significance of the day, marking the political triumph of Muslims in India for self-determination. He urged the nation to embrace unity and work towards economic stability while strengthening democratic institutions and upholding the rule of law. Further, Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine in their quest for legitimate rights.



Prime Minister Sharif also conveyed his heartfelt greetings, reflecting on the sacrifices of the forefathers and unsung heroes of the Pakistan Movement. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine until they secure their rights to self-determination.



The Armed Forces of Pakistan, including the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Services Chiefs, joined in extending felicitations, paying homage to the founding fathers and veterans whose sacrifices led to independence. They reaffirmed their commitment to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and values, ensuring that the nation’s freedom is preserved with honor and dignity.
