Islamabad, The 6th meeting of the National Task Force on Human Rights convened under the leadership of Mr. Azam Nazir Tarar, the Federal Minister for Human Rights, focusing on the effective implementation of the National Action Plan for Human Rights to better protect vulnerable groups in Pakistan.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting involved key stakeholders including provincial human rights officials and federal representatives, emphasizing the critical role of provinces post-devolution in advancing human rights. Minister Tarar called for reactivation of Provincial Task Forces and District Human Rights Committees to improve the human rights situation, particularly for women, children, religious minorities, persons with disabilities, and transgender persons. He also stressed the need for better data management through tools like the ZARRA App for missing children and proposed legislative changes to harmonize laws across provinces regarding child marriage and domestic labor.
