UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has urged the international community to engage in political dialogue to address the ongoing crisis in Yemen, highlighting the severe humanitarian challenges facing the region.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, addressed the UN Security Council during a briefing on Yemen. He described the humanitarian situation as one of the most severe globally, with nearly half of Yemen’s population suffering from significant food insecurity and 3.5 million people enduring acute malnutrition.

Mr. Akram emphasized the importance of a robust and coordinated international response to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. He called on donor countries to enhance their contributions to the 2025 humanitarian response plan, aiming to provide much-needed relief to those affected by the ongoing conflict.

Pakistan’s appeal at the United Nations underscores the urgent need for a collective international effort to foster dialogue and aid in resolving the protracted crisis in Yemen, which continues to impact millions of lives.
