Pakistan Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza, Cites Israeli War Crimes

Islamabad, In a strong appeal to the international community, Pakistan has called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, highlighting the need to hold Israel accountable for alleged war crimes. This demand was articulated by Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly media briefing in Islamabad today.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Baloch emphasized the urgency of ending the ongoing conflict in Palestine. She welcomed the findings of the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel, which she said confirmed reports of severe violations such as starvation used as warfare, murder, attacks against civilians, forcible transfer, torture, and cruel punishment by Israeli forces.

In the same briefing, Baloch also referenced the enduring conflict in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, recalling the 33rd anniversary of the Chota Bazaar massacre in Srinagar, where Indian forces killed thirty-two civilians. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri struggle for autonomy in line with UN resolutions.

Additionally, responding to queries on regional trade, Baloch noted recent progress in discussions between Pakistan and Afghanistan aimed at improving trade mechanisms to ease the movement of trade vehicles and personnel across borders.
