Islamabad, A comprehensive dialogue covering a broad range of defence cooperation was conducted during the 6th Round of the Pakistan-Brunei Joint Defence Working Committee (JDWC), held at the Ministry of Defence in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, spanning from the 23rd to the 25th of October.
According to a news release by the Press International Department, the Pakistani delegation was spearheaded by Lt Gen (Retd) Hamood uz Zaman Khan, the Secretary Defence. The Bruneian side was represented by Brig Gen (Retd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi Bin Haji Perudin, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Brunei Daussalam. Among the myriad of topics broached during the committee’s meeting were bilateral defence cooperation, security, counter-terrorism, and the prevailing regional conditions. The dialogues also touched upon potential training opportunities, exchange visits, and co-production of defence equipment.
The tone of the discussions was characterized as amiable and harmonious. Both delegation leaders expressed their mutual commitment to fortifying collaboration in defence and other security-related domains. Concluding the meeting, it was settled that the subsequent, 7th Round of the Pakistan-Brunei JDWC assembly, would be scheduled in Brunei on dates that both parties would decide upon mutually.
