Islamabad: The Pakistan-Bosnia and Herzegovina Parliamentary Friendship Group convened a meeting with a visiting Bosnian delegation, led by Dr. Sevlid Hurti?, Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus in Parliament House, Islamabad. Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, the group’s convener, highlighted the enduring relationship between the two nations and expressed hope for stronger parliamentary engagement to enhance bilateral relations.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the Bosnian delegation, which included Bosnian Ambassador to Pakistan Emin Cohodarevic, was in Pakistan for the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women. Dr. Khan underscored the importance of cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism, education, and people-to-people exchanges. She reiterated Pakistan’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration and paid tribute to the victims of the Srebrenica Genocide, stressing the importance of justice and accountability.

Dr. Hurti? expressed gratitude for the warm reception and acknowledged Pakistan’s longstanding support and friendship. He emphasized the need to convert political goodwill into tangible cooperation through parliamentary exchanges and partnerships in various sectors, including economic collaboration and human rights. The meeting concluded with both parties committing to further strengthening their bilateral relations through increased parliamentary cooperation and collaboration in mutual areas of interest.
