Pakistan Boosts Economic Reforms in Meeting with IMF Delegation


Islamabad, In a significant move towards economic stability, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, engaged with an International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation led by the IMF Mission Chief, Mr. Nathan Porter. The meeting, held at the Finance Ministry on May 13, 2024, marked the beginning of discussions on further cooperation with the IMF.



According to Press Information Department, the gathering included high-level participants such as the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue, and senior officers from the Finance Ministry. The Finance Minister expressed gratitude towards the IMF team for the successful completion of the Standby Arrangement (SBA) and discussed the improved macro-economic indicators achieved during the SBA period. The minister also highlighted the government’s dedication to continuing and expanding the economic reform agenda.
