Islamabad: Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt, has announced a significant initiative to provide five million meals to those in need across the country during Ramadan. This effort aims to support economically disadvantaged communities, underscoring the government’s commitment to aiding citizens in fulfilling their religious obligations.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, Capt. Shaheen visited a shelter home in Islamabad’s Sector G-9 to examine the arrangements for PBM’s “Maizban-e-Ramadan” program. During his visit, he assured attendees of the quality of Iftaar facilities and directed staff to maintain their duties with dedication and sincerity.

Capt. Shaheen emphasized the role of PBM in reaching families in remote areas, leveraging its district-level infrastructure. He highlighted PBM’s ongoing welfare projects, which are crucial for poverty reduction. This Ramadan initiative is seen as an extension of these efforts, providing solidarity and support to economically challenged individuals.

The arrangements for Iftaar extend to PBM’s women empowerment centers, child labor rehabilitation schools, orphan sweet homes, and various other locations, including mosques, supported by mobile vehicles. Capt. Shaheen appealed to philanthropists, welfare organizations, and volunteers to participate in this initiative, aiming to make it a memorable and effective endeavor.

In addition to his visit to the shelter home, Capt. Shaheen also visited the Sweet Home in Islamabad, where he reviewed Iftaar preparations and shared a meal with the children, reinforcing the program’s inclusive and supportive message.
