Pakistan Backs South Africa’s ICJ Move Against Israeli Actions in Gaza

Islamabad, Pakistan has expressed its support for South Africa’s application to the International Court of Justice regarding Israeli actions in Gaza.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, during a weekly media briefing in Islamabad, stated that Pakistan views this legal initiative as both timely and significant in holding Israel accountable for its actions against the Palestinian people. She underscored that Pakistan aligns with the concerns raised by South Africa in the application.

The Spokesperson emphasized that Israel’s continued military aggression and actions in Palestinian territories are seen as war crimes and crimes against humanity, amounting to genocidal acts. She reiterated Pakistan’s stance for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, an end to the ongoing violence against Palestinians, the lifting of the siege, and the prompt delivery of humanitarian aid to the affected regions.

Baloch affirmed Pakistan’s belief in a just resolution to the Palestinian issue, which lies in establishing an independent, viable, sovereign, and contiguous Palestinian state, with Al-Quds Al Sharif as its capital.
