Pakistan Backs OIC’s Call for Ceasefire and Condemns Israeli Aggression


Islamabad, Pakistan has expressed its strong support for the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Jeddah, which condemned the Israeli aggression against civilians in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territory. This endorsement was articulated by Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly media briefing.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the spokesperson emphasized the Council’s stance of holding the occupying power fully accountable for the civilian genocide in Gaza. Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s alignment with the OIC’s demands for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, the cessation of Israeli hostilities, and the assurance of unobstructed provision of humanitarian, medical, and relief support. Additionally, she highlighted the need for ensuring water and electricity supplies and the opening of humanitarian corridors for the delivery of urgent aid.



With the approach of the holy month of Ramzan, Baloch also voiced a pressing call for relief to the people of Palestine and unrestricted access for Palestinians to the Al-Aqsa Mosque for prayers.
