RAWALPINDI: In a resolute declaration, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, stated that the nation will not tolerate the use of Afghan soil for terrorism targeting its citizens. This statement was made during a meeting with Ahl-e-Tashayyu Ulema in Rawalpindi, where discussions centered on national security and the role of Ulema in fostering societal harmony.

According to Radio Pakistan, Field Marshal Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorist networks and their infrastructure through precise, intelligence-driven operations. He emphasized the need for the Afghan Taliban to prevent their territory from being used for attacks against Pakistan. The field marshal also highlighted the pivotal role of Ulema in promoting unity, countering misinformation, sectarian narratives, and externally sponsored destabilization efforts.

The Ulema present expressed their desire for peace and stability, condemning violence in the name of religion. They pledged support to law enforcement agencies in restoring peace. The religious leaders paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and supported efforts to de-escalate regional tensions. They also recorded messages emphasizing national integrity and unity.

Chairman Wahdat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Zahid Abbas Kazmi, assured full support to the Pakistan Army, stressing that the fight against terrorism is a collective effort of the nation. Other prominent religious figures echoed these sentiments, underscoring the unity and resolve of the Pakistani people in the face of internal and external challenges.
