Pakistan Army Reaffirms Support for Kashmir on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir

Rawalpindi: On the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Lt Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, declared that the Pakistan Army remains steadfast in its support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Lt Gen. Chaudhry criticized India’s actions on August 5, 2019, when it revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, contravening UN resolutions and international law. The move led to severe restrictions and an ongoing military siege, exacerbating tensions in the region.

During a press conference in Rawalpindi, Lt Gen. Chaudhry highlighted the ongoing human rights violations and the demographic changes being enforced in IIOJK, describing them as threats to regional peace. He emphasized the necessity of resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, stating that peace in the region hinges on this resolution.

The Pakistan Army, he noted, honors the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs on this day and aligns itself with their struggle for justice and self-determination.
