Pakistan Army Pledges Enhanced Security for Chinese Nationals Amid Rising Tensions.

Beijing: Chief of General Staff of the Pakistan Army, Lt-Gen. Muhammad Avais Dastgir, has affirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the enhanced security of Chinese nationals residing in Pakistan. This promise was made during a meeting with Commander of the People’s Liberation Army, Gen Li Qiaoming, at the PLA Army Headquarters in Beijing. The discussions centered on the evolving global and regional situations and measures for bolstering bilateral military cooperation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the meeting, Lt-Gen. Dastgir extended heartfelt condolences for the loss of Chinese lives in a recent terrorist attack in Karachi. The Chinese dignitary recognized the Pakistan Army’s ongoing efforts and measures to improve the security of Chinese nationals, offering wholehearted support to Pakistan in these endeavors.

Both parties concurred on the necessity of further enhancing mutual cooperation to counteract common adversaries that threaten the peace and development of the region. Discussions also included other areas of defense cooperation, such as military education, training, equipment, and technology.

The two sides agreed on the importance of institutionalizing mechanisms for mutual sharing of experiences and enhancing regular interactions to foster a stronger military partnership.
