Pakistan Army Chief Offers Condolences to Iran Following Leadership Tragedy

Islamabad, Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir, extended condolences to the Iranian military following the tragic helicopter crash that resulted in the deaths of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahain, and other senior officials. In a telephone conversation with Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Munir expressed profound grief over the incident.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir praised the late Iranian leaders as exceptional and stalwart friends of Pakistan, describing their loss as both tragic and irreplaceable. He conveyed the condolences of the Pakistan Army and reaffirmed the strong historic, cultural, and military ties between Pakistan and Iran. Major General Bagheri acknowledged the condolences and reiterated the commitment to continuing military cooperation between the two nations.
