Pakistan Army Chief Commits to Eliminating Terrorist Activities in Orakzai District


Peshawar: Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has committed to a full-scale defeat of the hostile terrorist nexus and the elimination of illegal activities. This assertion came during his interaction with troops who recently engaged in counter-terrorism operations in the Tirah Valley and surrounding areas of Orakzai District.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir paid tribute to the martyrs and heroes from the army and law enforcement agencies, emphasizing that the peace secured through significant national sacrifices will be upheld at all costs. He affirmed that the sacrifices of martyrs reinforce the forces’ determination to fight with the highest dedication and spirit.



General Munir also praised the efforts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and other law enforcement agencies, highlighting ongoing support from the Pakistan Army to enhance their capabilities, especially in newly integrated districts. He stressed the importance of continued capacity building for these agencies.



The Army Chief acknowledged the crucial support from local communities in aiding security forces, which he noted as vital for maintaining long-term stability in the region. During discussions with officers and troops, he commended their high morale and preparedness to respond effectively to various threats.



The briefing provided to General Munir upon his arrival included updates on the overall security situation, intelligence-driven counter-terrorism operations, and various initiatives aimed at ensuring stability in the merged districts. His visit began with a tribute at Yadgar e Shuhada, where he was welcomed by the Corps Commander of Peshawar.
