Muzaffarabad, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir today addressed troops stationed along the Line of Control in the Sarian sector near Muzaffarabad, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to respond with full national resolve and military might to any aggression or violation of its territorial sovereignty.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir stressed the readiness of the Pakistan Army to respond effectively to the full spectrum of threats. He highlighted recent incidents of what he termed as Indian state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan, including targeting individual Pakistani citizens. The Army Chief condemned these actions as a blatant disregard for international law, noting that India’s actions are being increasingly criticized by the international community.
General Munir assured that Pakistan would continue to expose such attempts and ensure the security of its citizens. During his visit, he was briefed on the latest situation along the Line of Control and lauded the operational readiness, high morale, and effective response of the troops to Indian ceasefire violations.
The event also saw the presence of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and Prime Minister Azad Kashmir, who, along with the Army Chief, paid tributes to the martyrs at the Jammu and Kashmir Monument in Muzaffarabad. They laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Monument and honored the sacrifices of those who lost their lives.
The leaders expressed solidarity with the Kashmiris, acknowledging their resilience and faith in the face of Indian occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). They highlighted the resulting humanitarian and security crises and their potential threat to regional peace and stability. Reiterating Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions, they criticized India’s attempts to change the demography of IIOJK through unilateral laws and security measures, asserting that such tactics cannot suppress the Kashmiri people’s will to achieve their legitimate objectives.
The visit of Pakistan’s military chief to the Line of Control and the accompanying statements reflect the nation’s stance on the Kashmir issue and its readiness to defend its territorial integrity.
