Islamabad, The Pakistan Army has commended the nation for the peaceful and violence-free general elections, highlighting the significant role played by the armed forces and other Law Enforcement Agencies in securing the electoral process. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement released through the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, detailed the comprehensive security measures that were implemented to ensure a safe environment for voters across the country.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the deployment of 137,000 army personnel and civil armed forces across approximately 6,000 of the most sensitive polling stations, along with over 7,800 Quick Reaction Forces (QRFs), was instrumental in maintaining peace and order during the elections. This extensive security effort was carried out in aid of civil power and in strict adherence to the constitution of Pakistan.
Despite facing 51 terrorist attacks, primarily in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan regions, aimed at disrupting the voting process, the armed forces remained steadfast. Their resolve and effective response ensured that the elections could proceed without significant interference, underscoring their commitment to protecting Pakistan’s democratic processes.
The ISPR expressed gratitude towards other law enforcement agencies for their collaboration in securing the elections, emphasizing the collective endeavor to uphold democracy in Pakistan. The statement reaffirmed the armed forces’ dedication to maintaining peace and security within the nation and their readiness to support the democratic traditions of the state continually.
The peaceful conclusion of the general elections marks a notable achievement for Pakistan, demonstrating the effectiveness of the security measures in place and the resilience of its democratic institutions.
