Pakistan Armed Forces Pledge Support for Kashmiri Self-Determination

Rawalpindi: On Kashmir Solidarity Day, the highest echelons of the Pakistan military reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their pursuit of self-determination. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, alongside the service chiefs, emphasized their unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, a press release from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) expressed admiration for the spirit of the Kashmiri people. The statement highlighted their endurance in the face of decades-long oppression, including state-sponsored actions and human rights violations. The ISPR underscored the resilience of Kashmiris as a source of motivation for Pakistan.

The Pakistan armed forces condemned what they described as significant human rights violations in IIOJK. These include extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and arbitrary detentions. The military’s media affairs wing criticized these actions, alleging they reflect India’s disregard for international law and humanitarian norms.

The statement called for global intervention, urging international bodies, human rights organizations, and the United Nations to address the situation in Kashmir. The ISPR emphasized the need for the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolutions to align with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Moreover, the Pakistan armed forces reiterated their dedication to the Kashmir cause and their role in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty. The ISPR confirmed their solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their quest for freedom and dignity.
