Islamabad: The Pakistan Armed Forces launched Operation “Bunyanum Marsoos” on May 10, 2025, in response to Indian military attacks that began on the night of May 6 and 7. The operation was part of the ongoing military conflict known as Marka-e-Haq and aimed to address the loss of civilian lives caused by the Indian strikes.
The Pakistani military’s response involved a coordinated effort across air, land, sea, and cyber domains. Utilizing precision-guided missiles and other advanced munitions, the operation targeted 26 military sites in Indian-administered regions of Jammu and Kashmir as well as mainland India. These sites were identified as responsible for attacks on Pakistani civilians.
The operation resulted in the destruction of several Indian military assets, including fighter aircraft and missile storage facilities. Pakistan maintained that their military actions were precise and restrained, aimed solely at military targets to avoid civilian casualties.
The conflict has underscored the tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. Pakistan’s response highlighted its military capabilities and the resolve to protect its sovereignty. The operation also demonstrated the role of the Pakistani public and various national sectors, including media and diplomacy, in supporting the military efforts.
Both nations remain on high alert, and the situation continues to be monitored by international observers. The Pakistani government has reiterated its stance on defending national sovereignty while maintaining that its actions were in retaliation to unprovoked aggression.
